A Book Review of "The MS Solution" by Kathryn Simpson:
One of my MS patients asked me to give her my perspective of the information in this book so here are some thoughts.
"The MS Solution" This is a very personal account of success with hormone treatments for MS. The MS Solution is an attempt to turn a personal success story into a technical "how to" guide for people with Multiple Sclerosis.
It surprises me that this book was allowed to be published with some of the claims written. For example, page 61 says "estrogen supplementation not only results in resolving symptoms of MS in women, it actually gets rid of inflammatory lesions in the central nervous system".
There are so many complex variables in the MS experience and in Hormone Supplementation. The struggle with treating MS conventionally continues to be a struggle because each person experiences with such individuality. The response to types of medical care has varied with many cases of MS. It would be really great if there were one solution for all people with MS but that is not the case. Everyone should approach their own health individually according to how they are experiencing their own version of MS. If only it was as simple as this book outlines.
